Note: Some athletes listed below may be considered excellent candidates for inclusion into the Sports Hall of Fame, it is just no one has nominated them. Some will undoubtedly be in the Hall some day but are still competing and are not eligible at this time. Several are trying to make it to the top level of competition in their sport and we are watching them. Please write us with any name we may have (unintentionally) left off the list.
ATHLETE:
Ben Bostrom (Redding): World Superbike top rider at one time. Former AMA Superbike and Supermoto champion.
Eric Bostrom (Redding): AMA Superbike top rider; World Superbike competitor; and Moto-X.
Chris Burns (Shasta College): 9 successful seasons (OG) in Canadian Football League. All-League twice.
Bob Emerson (Redding): U.S. Disabled Ski team 1985-89.
Greg Cadaret (Shingletown): Major League baseball pitcher for nine years.
Sam Enochian (Redding): Three-time College National Champ & All-Star; Former Major League Rugby player.
Amanda Goyne (Redding): Alpine Ski Racing; 2003 WIDEX Sportswoman of the Year; 3 Gold medals at Deaflympics.
Doren Granberry (Redding): 1995 World Deaf champion in golf; Numerous team and national championships.
Ben Hobbs (Happy Valley): Multiple Archery freestyle pro division championships.
Tom Hubert (Cottonwood): NASCAR driver, various levels - including Winston Cup series.
Jeff King (Shasta College): Four-time Iditarod Champion.
Linda Kurtz (Redding): 1970 US Swimming National Champion-100m Breaststroke.
Bobby McMullen (Redding): U.S. Disabled Ski team 1996-98.
Derek Moore (Redding): 2007 Div 1 NCAA National Wrestling Champion, 141 lb Division.
Rob Nairne (Born in Redding): NFL Linebacker with Broncos and Saints 1977 - 83.
Ryan O'Callaghan (Redding): All-American Tackle at U.C. Berkeley; NFL New England Patriots.
Megan Rapinoe (Redding): USA National Soccer Team; All-American at University of Portland.
Ricky Ray (Redding): Standout QB in CFL; 2 Grey Cup Championships and 2005 Cup MVP.
Ken Shamrock (Shasta College): Legendary martial artist and UFC Champion. aka"World's most dangerous man".
Dan Shaw (Redding): U.S. World Cup Freestyle team 1990-1993.
John "Rocky" Stone (Redding): Pitched for 1943 Cincinnati Reds.
Mike Strahle (Redding): Four-time World Disabled Sailing champion.
James Whalen (Shasta College): Three(3) seasons in NFL as a Tight End, primarily with Dallas.
Mark Wilson (McArthur): NFL Offensive Tackle for two(2) seasons with Washington Redskins.
Tiffanie Wright (Redding): 2004 Paralympian swimmer for USA.

Max Burch (Shasta High and Shasta College): 6 NSCIF wrestling titles; also coached at Shasta College.
Scott Fairley (West Valley): Numerous League and Section track championships at WVHS.
Don Williams (Anderson): Anderson High School wrestling coach with multiple League & Section championships.
